Synthetic Teak Installation Process

Are you considering replacing your traditional teak decking with synthetic yacht decking?

If you've been thinking about making the switch to synthetic decking and are curious about the process, we are here to guide you through it from start to finish.

• Firstly if you already have a traditional teak deck this must be removed. This is something Marine Deck Pro can undertake or can be done yourself. If we under take the removal we work on an hourly basis. During the process some deck fittings may have to be removed to ensure the best finish for your new deck.

  
  

• Screw holes from the traditional decking must then be filled and the entire area sanded ready for the new synthetic deck. The better the preparation the better the end result will be.

  
  

• A template is then made of the area to be covered. This normally takes a day depending on the size of area to be covered.

  
  

• Choose your design and colouring, we stock a wide range of colours from new teak to weathered look and many in between to complement every type of vessel from modern power boats to classic sailing yachts.

  
  

• The deck is then built in our workshop from the template, the size and complexity of the design will dictate on how long this takes.

• The deck is then trail fitted to ensure fitment and design is correct, at this point some small fettling may be required.

  
  

• Once the fitment is correct the deck is then bonded to your vessel.

  
  

• Finally fine sanding, fettling, sealing around the edges and deck fittings are replaced.

This concludes the installation process, giving your vessel a modern, updated deck at a lower cost and in less time than a traditional teak deck.
